Fixed Star Fomalhaut

At 4 degress of Pisces In our celestial heavens, the fish can be seen drinking water flowing from the jar of Aquarius ~ old pictorial sky maps depict the Southern Fish drinking the water flowing from the jug of Aquarius. Other stories credit the stellar fish swallowing the waters of the great deluge, thus saving the world. This fixed star is called Fomalhaut. Fomalhaut is said to influence changes from material to spiritual forms of expression, there is also associated with this star’s powerful emanations a malevolence of sublime scope and character.

Fomalhaut is one of the four Royal Stars in our heavens, and she is the brightest of them. Along with  Aldebaran, Regulus,  and Antares, they are the guardians of the night sky. They are said to represent a gateway that can lead us to higher consciousness. Fomalhaut, the 18th brightest star,  is guardian of our southern sky, and can be seen high in the sky during the fall ( in the Northern hemisphere) and spring (in the southern hemisphere) which are transitory times. Being one of the brightest stars, Fomalhaut was used for navigation purposes by our seafaring ancestors. Fomalhaut is called the loneliest star in our heavens because there are limited stars in our Southern sky; she is also 25 light years away from the Earth as well, and is filled with comets like our Kuiper Belt. This autumn star is a 3 star system which includes Fomalhaut B and C. Quiet large, Fomalhaut C is acutally a part of the Aquarius Constellation. Interesting note here, in 2005 the Hubble Telescope discovered a exoplanet orbiting Fomalhaut A which they called Fomalhaut B, Dagon, but in the 2014 images it seems it has disappeared. Another interesting fact is that Piscis Austrinus, located in the Southern sky, was on of the first 48 constellations recognized by Ptolemy; but he called it Ichthus Notios. 

Fomalhaut was equated with the Persian god Zal, and is said to bestow charisma and to engender the test of remaining true to our ideals.

Fomalhaut’s  mythology has a Middle Eastern setting indicative of Babylonian origin. An ancient constellation, Piscis Austrinus represents the Babylonian fish-god Oannes, who came to Earth to teach humans how to become civilized.  Ptolemy attributes the fixed star Fomalhaut to Venus and Mercury, To me this energy is one of uniting the mind, body, and soul. Being fully present in oneself. 

Fomalhaut is Arabic for “the fish’s mouth”. To the Syrians, she is the fertility goddess, Derceto which is the Greek name for Atargatis. Interestingly, around 500 B.C. Fomalhaut/Atargatis was the object of sunrise worship in the temple of Demeter at Eleusis,

Atargatis was worshiped all over the Mediterranean from about  4000 – 3000 years ago. She was the first mermaid and the first mermaid story ever told. Atargatis is a goddess of fertility, abundance, beauty and love.  In Ireland, mermaids were called ‘Merrows’ and in Scotland, they were known as Selkies. She is an aspect of the Universal Mother, she helps us swim deep down into the darkness and face our own fears – our own darkness, our shadow. Transformation is a keyword, reminding us of the ebb and flow of life. 

Fomalhaut represents the return of light after a period of darkness, when we have to find the light within ourselves to pull us through. This Royal Star holds highly transformative energy, reminding us of the spiral of life. Womb and tomb sit back to back; with every ending there comes a new beginning. Fomalhaut’s energy is connected to our soul and can help us strengthen our intuitive abilities. With this star’s connection to Atargatis, I feel that we are being called to stay grounded and not get swept away with distractions. We are being called to balance our physical and spiritual parts of our self, and learn how to use your gifts as they are…true gifts. 

As I am writing this, Pluto is close to Fomalhaut at 4 degrees of Pisces; and as all the planets had to pass through the underworld of Lord Pluto, they also had to bathe in the cleansing waters of Fomalhaut. February the Sun, Mercury, Mars and Venus all went through Pluto’s initiation allowing us to see the dark side of these planets, meeting Fomalhaut we are given a chance to be washed clean; but we are also dealing with Pisces energy which can be very distracting and full of illusions. 

One of Pisces sayings is “let go and let god”, which can be used as a good thing and also a bad thing. As we release the things that we can not control, sitting our problems at the feet of a higher power, that can lead us into escapism. Stress is so high in our world right now, and escaping from it is a desirable path. Releasing our attachments to the past is also a part of this. If we choose to go forward, we have to let go of the traumas of the past in order to heal and move into the future. It is one thing to have a remembrance for a certain traumatic experience, meaning not to repeat the event, it is quite another to keep placing yourself back in that moment. When we are constantly going back to that event, we have to keep in mind that we are going back to that energy – and your brain doesn’t know the difference so you are in turn experiencing it all over again. We are navigating through the ebbs and flow of life and it can get messy at times, but we have to remember to stay within our body, get quiet within, to unplug from the noisy outside world, and listen to your internal guidance. The only way out of the chaos is through it, and that means facing out deepest fears and working out way out of it. The sabian symbol for 4-5 degrees of Pisces is A Church Bazaar. I hesitated using this as it can come off too religious for some, but just go with me here. A church is meant to be a sacred place and is associated with the soul – our connection to the Divine (God/Goddess/Universal energy/etc). By this association we are focused on the spiritual and remembering the sacred. This degree is reminding us of the sacredness in life, our sacredness; when we remember this sacredness within yourself and in all things, we run a lower risk of losing yourself to our fears, our shadow. When we begin to go deep into Piscean waters, we can become disoriented. Think about the times when you have gone under water; could you hear things well? Could you talk well? Of course not, it’s all gargled and muted and it is very important to remember who you are. You are a sacred being, a spiritual being having a human experience. In our times people have lost touch with their roots, with their connection to this Earth. We can see this by some of the mental illnesses we see, the suicides, the violence, the hate, and so forth. We have forgotten that we are sacred beings on this planet. When we get caught up in fantasies and illusions, we lose track of ourselves. When there is more importance on things than people, we need to step back and do some self evaluation. We have to be able to separate fantasy from reality. If we are not stepping back from all the hustle and bustle and truly unplug, we get lost. We have to take time for our spiritual, emotional, and physical well being. Fomalhaut/Atargatis tells us that there will be some gnarly riptides in our life, through the ebbs and flow we too wax and wane. Remembering that this is just a moment in time, we must persevere through these difficult times so that we can go to better circumstances. The trick is that WE must do it, no one else can do it for us. We have to stop looking outside of yourself for someone else to save you as there is no one else, only you – and YOU are ALL you need. Need is the key word. When we go through these times we will wrestle with our ego.

Soul Astrology, Inner Knowing

Astrology fascinates many of us, but some do not understand it. It is a lot of information to digest, and it is something that you are always learning. Astrology is thousands of years old and in the times of the Mystery Schools it was taught hand-n-hand with astronomy. 

When I do see the astrology pictures and other memes, it only focuses on the Sun sign and that’s not a full view of the planets that make up your chart. Birth charts are very important for you to understand the blueprint of your life. When you are born the heavens are in a certain position, that vibrates a certain energy that is unique to you. Can there be two charts just a like? That is a very slim chance as the people would have to be born at the exact same time and same place. Conjoined twins are a good example, but even identical twins can be different as one comes before the other. So, it can happen.

Your Sun sign is our consciousness while our Moon sign is our unconscious and these are important, but it is our ascendent (or rising) sign that expresses our Soul. Soul Astrology can act like a guide that helps us understand our true nature and understanding it can be a very useful tool. As our Sun and Moon sign can reflect patterns that stand in our way (such as habitual patterns) including our thoughts, feelings, and expression; the ascendent’s placement can help us recognize and understand our patterns of thought and behavior that are needing to be healed, changed, or released. 

Buddhist teachings state that our mind should be like a stream of crystal clear mountain water, one of pristine clarity where all is known. This means that we are aware, we are tapped into our intuition where we have clear sight, we can hear those messages from Spirit; a place where nothing is in our way of our knowing, a place of utmost clarity. 

Our ascendent, Soul sign, can help us recognize our inner light, help understand our inner Self allowing us to truly be aware of the Self, and can bring us a deeper inner knowing.

January 2021 Update

Celestial blessings every one and happy new year! We did start the year out with some intense energy as the energy of the conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn is still in the air. And we do have a few more changes coming up that is really important. A lot of major transits we will have this year will be in the month of January

On January 6th, Mars moves into the Earth sign of Taurus. Now as Mars is approaching this shift his energy is going to be strong so you will need to keep yourself in check. This energy is warrior energy and we could see some upheavals during this time. Mars will actually trigger a lot of different energy during the first part of the year. 

You see, Mars is moving out of his home planet of Aries, and this energy can feel exhausting to some as this energy is that of ignition. Aries zodiac begins on March 21st which is the Spring Equinox, which is that burst of energy to begin – or birth. It’s that energy of sitting at the waiting line just waiting for the gun to fire to take off to see who can get to the finish line the quickest. At the end, he’s giving it his all so yes, this is raw energy. So, again, keep yourself in check for these few days – at least til the weekend. Honestly, don’t put yourself in any kind of position that will put you in an uneasy place, again this energy is in warrior mode.

Mars in Taurus isn’t exactly a bad thing, as it can bring some stability to grow as well as peace.  Taurus is about producing as it is an Earth element and it wants to grow and expand. This is a time when a lot of work can get done, and finished, as well as a good time to grow materially. This is great manager energy, getting things done in a harmonious way – this is will-power and strength. Sometimes though, this placement can keep us too focused on one thing that we neglect or just dont see everything else going on around us. This combination spells success. This is high sexual energy as well, and this energy urges people to pursue their passions. This placement will hold the energy of helping you create anything you want. This will also take place on our last quarter moon in Libra. Here we have relationships added to that sexual energy, but as Venus moves into Capricorn on the 8th, romantic relationships will have to have a good foundation if they are to grow and develop into something more.

So how will Mars and Venus relate during this time?  Well, Mars is trying to get a lot of things done and trying to please everyone and it can get chaotic, When Venus enters Capricorn, she will form a trine with Mars which will help keep things in check, making the choppy energy smoother. We could see a disruption of peace that is necessary, but again Venus will smooth things out. Throughout this month Mars will square Saturn in Aquarius on the 13th, and this is presser cooker energy. This is an extraordinary transforming energy, with the energy beginning to build around the 6th. Saturn likes to shape and mold things, taking raw material and turning them into something functional – in Aquarius these are higher ideals, and Saturn will call on Mars to build something really big. Now this isn’t going to happen overnight, it will take some time. On the 17th Mars will have a conjunction with Uranus and trine Jupiter. First, Jupiter is the cosmic sense of higher order and with Uranus he has rebellious energy and very original energy. Uranus and Jupiter says the sky is the limit, its transcendent quality. We have to be careful here and stay grounded, you could bite off more than you can chew. Don’t get taught up in the revolutionary impulse energy of Uranus as it can be too prideful and lead to a great fall. Stay grounded and make sure you don’t burn those bridges that you will need in the future. This is the energy of “nothing can hold me back”, breaking through the glass ceiling. Saturn will square with Uranus, so we will have to make sure we take care of things as they come. All of 2021 will have the energy of “keeping us in check’. 

Now the Mars and Uranus conjunction, deep breath! This is very explosive energy that can go either way. This is bloody, warfare energy, very militant energy. Jupiter will be showing up during this conjunction with a square, and Mars will shine some light from Uranus to Jupiter on this placement. Jupiter is the law, Mars having this meeting with Jupiter is like Mars on steroids. So we’re going to have this militant energy mixed with revolutionary, rebellious energy. Its going to be nuts this month. Jupiter, Uranus, Mars is about revolution…think the French Revolution, the Revolutionary War. Mars in Taurus will be bring that conflict energy as well. Venus in capricorn is offering Mars stabilizing energy though, so I feel that She will add some calmness to the mix, but we have to be really careful cause we do act in ways that we will later regret. 

The end of the month will end in a T-square, the full moon in Leo will square Mars and Uranus in Taurus and by the end of the month the Sun will square Mars so the full moon will amplify this expansive, revolutionary energy. Honestly, from the 17th till the end of the month is going to this chaotic energy. Understand that with change comes change, there will be some challenges and we will have to really search for ways to push through change peacefully. January is full of expansive energy which is very driving and can be volatile, and this includes structures coming down and natural disasters.  

Wish I could post all love and light to you all, but as most of us know that when change happens it is destructive- all kinds of destruction. From human to nature. Luckily, Venus is in a superior placement than Mars so She will be helping the energy – Venus likes peace and harmony so She will definitely be reminding us to keep it as peaceful as possible. This is the Tower card. But where will we land? Where is this energy going? Well, that is for another post!

Rune Eihwaz

Since the airing of the Viking type shows we have seen a flooding of Norse related things. For the most part it is people reclaiming their heritage, which is a great thing, but on the downside you see a bunch of confusion. Which was the same as what happened to the Craft as Witch-type shows came to the forefront.
I see many reading and making Runes that really do not understand them. For example, did you know that Runes were not always used for divination purposes? Did you know there is a certain way to work with them? Did you know that they existed before Odin?
Eihwaz is one of those Runes that we have to be careful with. It is a power symbol, and one that can uncover mysteries. It symbolizes the Yew tree (Yggdrasil tree) and it is the pillar of life. It is a union of two different forces, life and death. Which is a great Rune for this astrological energy we’re in. The Yew tree has one of the longest life spans and it an evergreen, but this wise tree is poisonous.

Eihwaz is the 13th Rune in the Elder Futhark Runes, and it is many times seen as the “Death Rune”. So we are seeing that there is life after death, or death in life, but is that incarnation granted?

This is a Rune of initiation, as it can represent a ceremonial resurrection that was the final initiation into the mysteries. The initiate is taken to the brink of death, at which he journeyed to the Otherworld, many of you may have heard this called the Shamanic death.

At the Winter Solstice/Yule or whatever you celebrate, have you been able to take the descent, as the Goddess did? Thr Goddess teaches us the mystery that there is death in life, as well as life in death. The placement of Jupiter and Saturn is really playing on the energy as well.

So as we get to the rebirth of the Sun God, what is it going to bring You? Will there be that union of the two and bring creation – have you been the magician of your life? Or….did you missed this opportunity to transcend and remained on the path of the Fool?

Change is upon us, there is definately a new energy/ a new path before us.

New Moon Sagittarius

Blessed New Moon in Sagittarius! This moon will also have the energy of a solar eclipse.
With Mars iharmonically nfluencing this sun/moon conjunction this gives us that extra push of energy to pursue your goals. There is some disturbance energy from Neptune, as he will be pushing illusions and possible deceitful energy but Mars will do what he can to mute that energy. Focus will be important for this moon. Mercury is very close to this sun/moon conjunction so communication is heightened. Sharing of ideas, thoughts, short travel (possibility for work), and I feel that this energy will be pushing the truth of things.
This energy can help you get the help you need as well, but you will have to ask.
This is a good Moon to work on manifestation, the energy push that we need is there, but you have to focus the energy.
Set your aim and release the arrow…again focus, focus, focus. You have to know where you are going to direct the energy.

Gemini Full Moon

Happy Gemini Full Moon! The Gemini full moon will be at approximately 0430 et on November 30, 2020 – and guess what? We’re going to have a partial lunar eclipse. So, yes this energy is going to be intense. 

Full moons are a ripening, it is when something has come to fruition. So for this moon, if something falls away, or tries to go away the best thing you can do is let it go! Eclipses are known to illuminate what needs to be released, what needs to go, that which really no longer serves you. They are also said to bring fated events, or reveal a destiny and encourage you to trust in your intuition, to trust that what is happening is for a reason, and that there is more than meets the eye. 

The moon represents our emotions, so this could be emotionally bittersweet for you. 

This is a time to be receptive and to allow yourself to tap into your divine feminine…not the girly stuff but what the divine feminine actually is. 

Mercury is Gemini’s planet, so it’s masculine energy and it is mental. Masculine energy can be forceful, so this energy is wanting us to step back a minute. Feminine energy is the hidden, the unknown and it is also creative. I feel this moon is reminding us of the wonderful synergy that can happen when we harmonize the masculine and feminine energy within. 

The Moon is harmonizing with Chiron who is aiding some healing energy. The thing with Chiron is he is known as the wounded healer; he was capable of healing all but himself. The Moon is squaring a powerful Goddess as well, Ceres. Ceres is the a fertility Goddess, as well as renewal and she us reminding us to nourish ourselves- and nurture. Now Ceres is a specifying with Black Moon Lilith and this represents thr wounded feminine, allowing repressed emotions to be expressed. 

Another powerful Goddess is showing up for this event and thats Vesta. Vesta is squaring the Sun (Sagittarius) that is opposite the Moon (Gemini). 

Vesta represents the hearth and fire, and she wants us to keep our inner flame lit to continue to inspire us. 

I am feeling a time of truth, it is a time that something has reached its end, a harvest of sorts. Now its time to release whats holding you back from seeing the inner truth. Its about letting go of the petty, the lower ego, nurturing our inner desires and allowing the masculine and feminine energies to synergize to allow this creative energy to give birth to the new. This moon feels like Da’ath to me. Da’ath is where masculine and feminine energy meets on the Kaballah tree, and it represents the place of possibilities. If we allow ourselves to be receptive, to release the clutter, the obstacles, and operate in your creativity and allow your dreams to bloom. 

Spending time in nature is highlighted, remember to nourish your mind, body, and soul.

Zodiac Polarity

It is said that the full moon in October sets the energetic precedence for the next year. Our last full moon was actually a blue moon with intense energy and it was in the zodiac sign of Taurus. One thing that many fail to research when studying astrology or their own planetary signs is to not look at that polarity of the sign – meaning the opposite of said sign.

When we have a full moon it is opposite the sun, meaning whatever the astrological sign the sun is in the full moon is in the opposite sign. And for the blue moon in October, the sun was in Scorpio and the moon was in Taurus – which are opposites.

While Taurus represents the earth element, Scorpio is water. So the transition energy you get from Scorpio can be grounded in Taurus and can be quite humbling. Scorpio represents change, transition, and transmutation; Taurus is a stable energy and help us keep the calm in the middle of the chaos in our core. Scorpio represents the Underworld as it’s planet is Pluto. While we have the sun, (whose zodiac sign is Leo) representing the self, walking through the Underworld we can expect to have big changes within our lives as well as being forced in front of a mirror and having to work through our inner turmoil or commonly called self inventory.

As we are seeing all of this chaotic energy in our world today, it would appear that the Earth is really feeling this Underworld energy. Transitional energy is in the air, but as we are seeing in our world it is unfocused which sends it out in all sorts of crazy directions. The frustrating thing for those of us that actually work with this energy and see the playing out of energies is that there are others who fail to see or even think astrology is just a new age mumbo-jumbo that isn’t relevant. And people can think what they want, but so far astrology has really energetically aligned with what is going on Earth.

As I was re-reading through one of Barbara Hand Clow’s books, Liquid Light of Sex, I came across a paragraph that hits on this polarity energy – and to me shed some light on this energy. “The second polarity turns around the issues of grounding and emptying. Am I stuck in a house in the midst of a fifteen-year accumulation of possessions and feeling like I can never leave? Or, have I so let go of things I need for living that I am not grounded? Resolution” higher ethical sensitivity. Take for yourself what you really need from the Earth and enjoy all your pleasures. Let go of every single thing in your life that is not frequently needed or used. Teaching: the Native American saying ‘The Earth is your Mother and she freely offers to you all that you need.'”.

As I have stated in my past shows, we are at an apex in our world right now. As with all change comes fear that things will be worse than they are now, but this is when it is important to focus our energy so we can active create instead of tossing the dice and seeing what we get. Remember, the more people focusing on one energetic impression the greater the chances for the result you are seeking. With Pluto and Saturn still hanging out in Capricorn, we will probably keep seeing dirty laundry aired from our governments and other institutions of power. Many fear change and I feel that it is because they have not yet master the process of it. Unfortunately, this is one of many things that were taken away from us about 2000 years ago. We are in the beginnings of the Age of Aquarius and this age is about future thinking, its technology, its forward thinking and wanting to take things to the next higher level. As I write this, the moon is in Cancer but it is still opposite Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto that are in Capricorn. So while all of these governments and institutions are being turned upside down, it would behoove them to listen to the out cries of the people and work at bringing comfort back to the people they are supposed to represent. Venus and Mercury are in Libra which is really aiding in the energy for clarity and balancing out the energy….as well as fairness. Lady Liberty will not rest until the unjust has been made just and harmony for the people reigns.

Mars is still in Aries retrograde, so we can see that there is a blockage in the forward moving of the energy. It may help us to remember our dreams from the past, or the wishful dreams of a nation to us to be able to go forward harmoniously. I’m not talking about the Utopian pipe-dream, I am talking about meeting middle ground.

Scorpio Season

Happy, happy birthday to all you Scorpions out there!

I wrote this a year or so ago and I tell ya it just speaks to me. Watching how energy is playing out here, as well as in the heavens is fantastic. I want to share this with you as I feel it really sheds light on things.
We are in Scorpio energy, and Samhain- All Hallow’s Eve…our last harvest, has passed us, as well as that powerful Taurus Blue Full Moon. I wanted to talk about what this energy is about and explain why some of you are going through what you are going through. One of my favorites, Hades, Lord of the Underworld as I always feel like he gets a bad wrap.

When this energy is released, it releases unleashed, intense energy that causes life changing energy. Scorpio is associated with spiritual changes, self development and ‘political power’. This energy is all about transformation, rebirth and regeneration and this includes all areas of our lives. On the downside, when this energy is used in a negative way it is the abuse of power, destructive….self serving. On a good note, this energy can have the ability to discern the truth. So given this time, especially with all that is going on in the world, this energy is definitely showing itself. Many times we have to be pulled by our hair kicking and screaming, then to only realize that the transformation as well worth it. Scorpio’s planet is Pluto, Lord of the UnderWorld which takes the energy deeper into the watery depths. Here we are guided deep down into our soul as it dredges up our old thought patterns/belief systems and attitudes/thoughts. This Lord makes us face them head on, analyzing and then transform them into something new…rebirth. The seat of our consciousness is pulled, so those things that we thought were buried deep down, our old baggage, we are forced to transform this old into something newer and better. Here we are being taught alchemy…taking one thing and making it into another. Many have mixed feelings regarding Lord Pluto, they fear him as he normally throws us out of our comfort zones and into new territory. This intense Lord is actually our ally, as he teaches us the importance of our inner work to step into our highest potential.
One of my favorite poets/authors is Rumi and a favorite quote of mine, something that touches the root of my being is;

“ The wound is the place where the light enters you”.

This is simply saying, that only until you fully go into that darkness (your fears) full healing will take place. Pluto is all about digging deep into the soul to pull out old beliefs, thought systems and attitudes. He asks us to live through them, analyze them and then kill them off in order to birth them into something new. Please note, that many times these transformations are happening emotionally or spiritually…but can lead to physical changes as well. Lord Pluto asks you “where are you” “where are you going/want to go” , unlocking deep secrets within you. So how is this helpful to you? Have you been in a place where you felt stuck? Are you in a relationship that you keep questioning? How about wanting to find a different job, or figure out what job you actually want? Who are you? Stuck? Lord Pluto, brings us these hidden jewels within us to help us get past the questions. You see, many times you are stuck because you are blocking yourself from expanding…and energy loves to move and expand. Energy is in constant change, it is constantly evolving into this and then that…it likes to expand. So if you feeling stuck, why? What is keeping you from moving/growing past this point? Is it insecurity? Normally, it is some feeling/form of inadequacy inside us. He challenges us to move past, pushing ourselves to places we’ve never been…..he tells us that if we truly want better, we in fact have to do the work to get it. This is a time that our buttons are pushed as well, as he loves to show you your closet full of skeletons. Maybe this is why I love Scorpio/Pluto energy, it challenges you to take those things that no longer serve you and transform them into something that does. Destroy the old, to create the new and better.

I am sure you all know the story of Persephone and Hades, and how it is emphasized that she was kidnapped and forced…but what if she looks forward to spending time with Hades? What if, while she is fertilizing the earth, she misses her beloved? Read about Inanna’s journey through the underworld as well. Maybe it would serve us to shift our perception, see deeper into things. Remembering that we cant control everything, and we must go with the flow. Many years I was told through the New Age teachings that the light is the way the light is the way the only way….but what about the darkness, the underworld. This is where we go to heal. The dark is where all life begins. It would really behoove us to see things, not for how it appears on the surface, but for what lies beneath. Challenge yourself to read between the lines, search for that hidden knowledge.
